Recording sermons

RECORD captures a message so you can walk out with notes, not a forgotten file on your camera roll.

Before you start

1. Open the RECORD tab.
2. Allow microphone access.
3. Keep the phone plugged in for long services if you can.
4. On iPhone, use the Unfiltered Grace app (not Safari) if you need the recording to keep going when the screen locks.

You will not see a live transcript while recording. The transcript is created after you stop.

Record Live

Tap Record Live. You can type your own notes while it runs. Only Stop ends the recording.

When you tap Stop, the audio uploads, then we transcribe it and build notes. A progress bar stays available even if you switch to WRITE or JOURNAL.

Do not close the app until upload has at least started. If upload fails, RECORD may offer Upload saved recording so you can try again from the copy saved on the phone.

After processing

Open NOTES for theme, key points, illustrations, discussion questions, personal application, reflection, transcript, and your handwritten notes. See Sermon notes.

Limits

Sermon processing is capped in hours per calendar month by plan. Check Usage & billing.

Phone lock and “Failed to start recording”

• Allow Microphone for Unfiltered Grace in your phone settings.
• Use the installed app on iPhone, not a home-screen bookmark of the website.
• If Record fails immediately, check that the phone is online and try again.
